Tourist information of Fin Garden Kashan

Fin Garden Kashan, is a Kashan must-see historical sightseeing garden that attracts many travelers each year. Fin Garden is one of nine magnificent Persian Gardens designated on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

During the time of the Safavid monarchy in the 16th century, this garden was created. The garden was expanded and renovated throughout the following years.

The Fin Garden follows a layout similar to the magnificent Chahar Bagh, with a pavilion at the central intersection. The walls around Fin Garden have four circular towers. It’s a “Bagh,” or classic Persian garden.

Iranians refer to this place as Eden, or the Garden of Paradise, because of the abundance of vegetation and running water found there.

The historical tragedy that occurred in Fin Garden is also well-known. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar’s prime minister was Amir Kabir. Innovator during the Qajar era, he was assassinated in Fin Garden in 1852.

Fin Garden combines natural and artificial elements to a stunning effect, like Shiraz’s Narenjestan and Eram Gardens and Yazd’s Dowlatabad and Shazdeh Mahan Garden.

As you travel to Fin Garden, you may detour to the nearby ancient archeological site of Tepe Sialk, which is only around 4 kilometers away.

After you tour Fin Garden, rest in the garden’s tea house with a snack and a cup of tea. There are a few cafes along Amir Kabir Street, but the best ones are in the city center; it’s undoubtedly one of the top things to do in Kashan.

Spring and summer are the best times to visit Kashan’s Fin Garden. The plants and trees around you are lush and green during these times so that you can enjoy its beautiful nature. However, going to the garden in the winter when it’s covered in white snow can also be fun, especially while drinking tea in the tea house.

The garden is open to everyone every day except for holidays. Fin Garden can get very crowded on weekends and holidays, so if you’d rather avoid crowds, you should go during the week.

History and Architecture of Fin Garden Kashan

The architecture of Kashan’s Fin Garden became famous for its use of features from the Safavid era and its symmetry. People used to say that this park was one of the most symmetrical in Iran, which added to its fame.

Having water features in this garden is one of the most important things that makes it more beautiful and interactive. In this park, the fountains cool the air and make it look lovely. Along with water, the trees in the Fin Garden of Kashan are another essential part that has given it its fantastic beauty and energizing life.

Along with the 580 other trees in this park, there are many cypress, plane, and pine trees. These trees have been around for a long time and have grown so big that they cast a massive shadow over the yard. The shade from these trees and the water features in the yard have helped to cool it down and make it feel incredibly fresh.

The “Joosh” pool is among the most well-known and important in the Fin Garden of Kashan. One of the things that has made it famous is the beautiful tiles on the floor of this pool. Gold-enameled tiles with gold designs cover the floor of this pool. They were made by a famous family of artists and tile makers.

These are some of Kashan’s Fin Garden’s most exciting areas and buildings. They are all historically significant and feature exquisite architecture from various periods in Iranian history:

  • Kooshk-e Safavi: It was one of the most important additions to the park during the Safavid era. This pavilion, which looks much like a palace, was built in the middle of the yard and has a view of the whole thing. It was built to hold Kings’ celebrations and meetings and has a pool in the middle. This pavilion is an excellent example of how symmetrical Safavid construction can be.
  • Sardar Palace: It was built at the front of the yard to connect the outside to the inside. Its name comes from the fact that it looks like a palace. It has rooms with balconies that look out over the yard on all sides. This building was also built during the Safavid era.
  • Shah Nashin Room: One of the Qajari kings ordered that this sitting room be used for talks and other public events. It had a main door and several side doors. Servants used the side doors, while the main door was only for the king and the nobles.
  • Kooshk-e Qajar: It is also known as the Shotor Galu of Fath Ali Shah. This pavilion throws off the general balance of the Fin Garden. Its roof still has paintings and mirrors from the Qajar era, but they are slowly falling apart because they haven’t been maintained.
  • Cheshmeh-ye Zananeh: It is now a teahouse but used to be the water source for the garden’s main ponds. The waterfall water would be split into three parts and sent to three ponds.
  • Fin Bathhouse: The bathhouse is one of the most famous and essential parts of the Fin Garden. It is where Amir Kabir was killed. The bathhouse has a royal sitting area, barber rooms, a bank, a hot pool, a cold pool, and a tepid pool.

One of the tourists mentioned that “the Fin Gardens in Kashan are a UNESCO World Heritage site constructed in the 1600s. These places are worth visiting because of their stunning beauty. Walking around was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, all the waterfalls in the Gardens were turned off during my visit. During my visit in early October, I found the Gardens quite beautiful, although they were not as lush with plants as expected.”

Another visitor commented, “This garden has a magnificent exterior and tranquil water features that make it worth a visit!” It was indeed a sight to behold, with all that beauty surrounding us. Additionally, a notorious murder took place at this location centuries ago.”

Additionally, tourists have admired this unique park from the 1600s. “Iranian art can be found throughout the park, showcasing the hard work of Iran’s talented artists who created this oasis amid a scorching desert.”
