The colorful Domes Hotel on Rainbow Island 

The name of the hotel is Majara. (meaning adventure). Hormuz Island boasts beautiful sceneries since its sand and sediments are naturally colored. Architect Nader Khalili developed this idea, which was used to make the domes. It’s done by putting layers of dirt and cement in sandbags and then reinforcing them with barbed wire.

About 200 of these domes make up a cartoonish vacation spot on the Iranian island of Hormuz that looks out over the Persian Gulf. Their vivid blue, yellow, red, and green exteriors and interiors make them look like a child drew them. Majara Residence Hormuz Island is one of Iran’s Top 8 Architecturally Unique Hotels. 

Eighty-five guests can stay in 17 suites of 130 connected domes of different sizes and decorated with furniture made in the area. The other domes are restaurants, cafes, stores, a spa, an art gallery, a prayer space, and information for tourists.

The Majara Residence might be another example of the current “Eco-Tourism” movement, which includes accommodations that try to be more responsible and eco-friendly in how they are designed and what they offer. It’s fantastic to develop a tourist spot that doesn’t change the ecosystem much and uses the place’s inherent symbols, like colorful water, beautiful sand, etc. The political nature of Hormuz Island is also considered in the design, and the company believes that the project will bring together citizens, neighbors, and visitors.
