Amir Chakhmaq Complex Yazd

Amir Jalal Addin Chakhmaq built Amir Chakhmaq Square during the Timurid era. He was the Timurid ruler of Yazd, and he could not have finished the project without the help and advice of his wife, Seti Fatemeh Khatoon. People then called the square and the mosque Amir Chakhmaq Square and Amir Chakhmaq Mosque, respectively.

Today, Amir Chakhmaq Square in Yazd is still beautiful and attracts many tourists yearly.

Inside the Amir Chakhmaq Complex are many old buildings. The Amir Chakhmaq Mosque is the oldest building in the square. It is also known as the New Jameh Mosque or the Dohouk Mosque. After the Jameh Mosque of Yazd, it is thought to be the second largest, most beautiful, and most important mosque.

The design of the inside is just as attractive as the outside. It is a beautiful example of Iranian art because it has many Persian and Islamic details everywhere. Some pieces are text carvings, brick art, Quran carvings on mosaics, arabesque pattern combinations, muqarnas structures, marble designs, and fretwork.
